that's the 'beauty' in all these new health problems. Multi-faceted causes. 70+ vaccines, glyphosate and other agri-dustrial chemical contamination on literally everything, gmo's, engine lube (seed oil), ultra-processed franken-foods, to name a few. I think its combos of some or all, not a single source. One thing for certain though, is modern diseases are not being caused by anything humans consumed for millennia, and the Amish and similar are pretty good control groups for that hypothesis
Even the Amish are sometimes exposed to chemicals - neighboring farms will often spray and they end up with the run-off, but yeah agreed they're as close to a control group in this country as we have right now.
yea unless one decides to live in a literal bubble, can't avoid everything. But everybody can control for what is intentionally ingested and/or exposed to. Unfortunately, most either don't know or worse, don't care, about such things.
Yeah, last year I spent a few days with some extended family and their kids, and the amount of sugar consumed was mind-blowing. These kids were drinking probably upwards of 200g of sugar every day. I'm not even sure what they're building their body out of - between all the sugary drinks and junk food.
big part of why childhood diabetes is as prevalent as it is. Its truly hearth breaking. I've tried to get friends to care about what they feed their children sop many over the years to no avail whatsoever. Its all 'well they like this or that so blah blah blah'. I eventually gave up. No point in trying if the parents who should care don't care.
Yeah, to me feeding your kids junk food is almost a form of abuse. As the parent it's your job to know what a child needs to eat and provide proper nourishment - that's like a basic need, never mind the more complex ones like emotional support and intellectual development. So many parents fail at the very basic task of feeding their children real food, and then doom them to a life of sickness.
I recently listened to an interview by American Thought Leaders of Dr. Marty Makary about the history of medical consensus and how so many younger people today are, from birth, shielded from bacteria in their gut and later develop moderate to severe illness to peanuts, and other food items. Good interview worth listening to
Ultrapasturized dairy products and ultraprocessed foods are poisonous and no longer safe for human consumption. Buy European flour (Italy exports a good amount) and your gluten allergies will disappear. Visit getrawmilk.com for local dairies and order cheeses from places like Crowley Cheese in Vermont. Without getting too political, it looks like Trump plans to appoint RFK over the FDA to get this corrected in the USA.
I actually grew up in Europe and lived most of my life there, and unfortunately had the same gut problems and food intolerances over there, too.
It's true that food quality is higher in Europe, but it's by no means pristine. They still use HFCS in everything and spray with toxic pesticides.
One thing that's actually better over here is the food labeling. For instance, I can fairly easily find grass-fed beef in a supermarket in the U.S., whereas it's simply not labeled as such in most of Europe, so you don't know what kind of meat you're getting.
But yeah, overall European food is higher quality and you can tell just by looking at the average European vs. American (and by looking at obesity rates).

Yeah you're right, there's a lot going on here!

Ah, yeah that's true, that and over-use of antibiotics. We let our kids eat dirt (in moderation) - that's how they build their gut.
